Rising stars is a south african non league football team which was particularly formed for the players that were willing to play but had no specific football teams for themselves. At Rising stars we believe players should be left to grow at their own pace, playing as much as they can. We don't recruit any one. Players come for themselves from the juniors up to the pen.We don't also stop them if they opt  to depart. We just say in Zulu uma ungasafun'ukudlala mfana shayisi'shwaphana sakh'uhambe.

The notion to have such football team came in 1999. We had four strong football teams by then Commodores,Sundowns,Zulu power and Leeds. Despite of these massive football teams, we still had an abundance of inactive ,clubless players who use to gather in small groups at the corners of our streets. Figuring out what were their problems ,I was indirectly told that they were unable to break into the first teams either through biaseness of team selectors or just unsolvable issues with their respective teams. Some had never kicked the ball before while others  had been swimming in problems of social pathology. That was a marvelous opportunity to prove themselves to those who were so doubtful of their capabilities on the field of play. They unonimously agreed with an idea to have another team that would accommodate those  that  were not playing.

That was the formation of the Rising Stars. We played our first friendly game  on 15 October 1999 against arrogant Leeds  who had opted to field 40% of their regulars and the rest were bench warmers , with a hope of walloping inexperienced players. Rising stars  had been beefed up with youthful squad  though a minority of veterans could still be seen but would not take further part in future. We only fielded them as we didn't have enough starting eleven.

It is a history now that our defensive midfielder Fire scored in that match becoming the first ever player to score for the Rising stars. Rising stars finally won the game.

They  played a 4-4 draw then in a training match against the mighty Sundowns who had recently handed  a heavy drubbing to their all time rivals Commodores.

Currently MAJOMELA RISING STARS  are struggling to win hearts of the locals   as  they are always subjected to poor officiating. Despite of their good long history they only managed to lift one major trophy Top 4. There  has been  a vast improvement  in recent  years. They have only one problem of losing players when they get matured  that has  struck them severely.
